Education is known as the backbone of development for a country. Education leads people from darkness to light, ignorance to knowledge, negative to positive thinking. Education is relative things to time and society. 'Education for all' is the goal of Government of Nepal. For better education, policies of government, standard textbooks, trained teachers, good environment and healthy students are needed.
Janak Education Materials Center Ltd. is one of the wings of Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education and Sports. It was established 29 years ago. Its major responsibilities are producing standard textbooks, supplementary books and distributing the books from grade 1 to 10 in all parts of Nepal in the same price. This centre produces textbooks in English medium for boarding schools of Nepal also. On the other hand, this centre has also adopted the policies of co publishing of books in association with private publishers. This centre has given more attention for producing quality textbooks at a low price as far as possible so that the textbooks will be within the reach of all students. For quality printing, this centre has already introduced highly sophisticated offset and multicolor printing Offset Machine.
Every year this centre has produced more than 22 million textbooks and other education materials. Curriculum Development Centre of Government of Nepal provides CRC of all textbooks to this centre for printing and distribution. The Government of Nepal is going to install security press in the premises of this centre keeping in view the performing capacity of this centre. Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education has highly evaluated this centre by providing the responsibility of security printing. This centre has been purchasing paper from local paper industries, which has been a great help for promoting domestic industries.
Finally, we hope we will be able to fulfill our goal and responsibilities. We hope positive feedbacks from guardians, educationists, political activists, teachers and all concerned authorities.
